Since 2010, the Initiative for Community Wellness (ICW), a student-run community health organization based in Hayward, has been providing free health and wellness services to underserved populations of the East Bay Area. Among these services include health education and exercise classes, as well as primary medical services, such as general health checkups and flu vaccinations. The primary care community center that ICW operates from is the South Hayward Parish. ICW also hosts health fairs periodically to expand public access to primary healthcare services and to promote public health awareness.
